Kōji Yakusho, an extraordinary performer and one of the most beloved faces of Japanese cinema, will attend the Far East Film Festival 28, where he will be awarded the Golden Mulberry for lifetime achievement. An actor of rare sensitivity, capable of conveying the most incandescent substance of being, Yakusho has recently gifted us—in Perfect Days—one of the most beautiful endings in world cinema of recent years, sustaining a prolonged close-up in which he reveals himself to the point of tears.

Speaking of his talent, director Kiyoshi Kurosawa has said:
